Siti Walidah accompanied K.H Ahmad until his death, and he was the only wife who received the title Nyi Ahmad Dahlan as well as Muhammadiyah's mother.
Of the five wives of Kiai Haji Ahmad Dahlan, who earned the title Nyi Dahlan was Siti Walidah. Other wives are Nyai Abdullah, Nyai Rum, Nyai Aisyah, and Nyai solihah. It is unclear whether Siti Walidah was his first wife or not, but for sure he accompanied Ahmad Dahlan to death, and therefore got the name Nyi Dahlan or Nyai Dahlan. This shows the privilege of his position in the life of the Kyai.
As Nyai the founder of Muhammadiyah, no doubt the scope of her association and level of insight became increasingly weighty, so that being able to accompany her husband brought Muhammadiyah into one of the largest Islamic organizations in Indonesia. Dahlan often even gave up organizational matters related to womanhood to him. Therefore he got the nickname "Mrs. Muhammadiyah".
Perhaps because of that, too, when Dahlan in 1923 wanted to create a women's organization in the Muhammadiyah environment, he immediately nominated Sopo Tresno (ST), the women's association led by Nyai since 1914, to become Aisyiyah. Through Aisyiyah, Nyai Dahlan fought for the advancement of Indonesian Muslims, especially in Java.
He is known as a hard worker who gives a lot of contributions and advice to whom he faces, so that people who visit him always get useful fatwas.
SOPO TRESNO (Javanese dialect greeting tresna, "who likes", or "who loves") was originally a special recitation gathering for women in the neighborhood of Nyai Dahlan. The formation of this study activity is an obsession with Siti Walidah, who considers women as male partners, not subordinate. That is why, when she became Nyai Dahlan, she hoped that Muhammadiyah would be fair to women.
The ST study group has a strong interest in women. Its members are not confined to teenage girls, their mothers, but batik and PRT workers. Ny Dahlan thinks education works for all walks of life regardless of class and rank.
It was Nyi's advantage that Sopo Tresno became a mediator for communicating heart to heart. From a missionary standpoint, ST was able to thwart the mission of Christianity, which at that time had extended to the interior. There they were taught to write, read, study, and understand the meaning of the Qur'anic verses on women's rights and obligations.
This positive development is in line with Muhammadiyah's determination to develop Sopo Tresno's education into a well-established Muslim women's organization. The use of the name Aisyiyah is on the recommendation of Hajj Fakhruddin in a meeting of managers, derived from the name of the wife of the prophet Muhammad, Siti Aisyah. It is hoped that the struggle of the Abu Bakr Shidiq's daughter can be won in the Aisyiyah movement.

Nyai Dahlan himself serves as a protector and advisor, consultant and consultant. Five years later, 1922, when Aisyiyah was officially part of the Muhammadiyah, he was promoted to head of the Central Government until 1930.
When Japan was in power, Nyai was hit by a ban on women's organizations. And when the Japanese insisted on the desire for the students to worship the sun, he was the most opposed to it. His half-hearted win for the National Heroes title through the No. 042/1971 September 22, 1971.
Nyai Dahlan died 23 years after her husband's predecessor in 1923, at the age of 74. On Friday, May 31, 1946, at 13:00, the mother of six children breathed her last breath in Kauman, a hometown of a community of students and boys, and in the graveyard the following afternoon, at 17:00, behind the great Mosque of Yogjakarta, after being prayed there.
